fnatic have defeated NiP 2-0 (16-14 on de_train, 16-7 on de_dust2) to win the Swedish Championship at DreamHack Summer, better known as ESPORTSM 2013/2014. Their prize is 50,000 SEK (~$7,500), while NiP will take 20,000 SEK ($3,000).

In addition to the international tournament, DreamHack Summer also hosted the Swedish Championship called ESPORTSM with eight best local teams battling it out for 100,000 SEK.

After the quarter-finals and the semi-finals earlier today, fnatic and NiP remained to battled for the 50,000 SEK first place prize. The match was scheduled to be played in the DreamArena Extreme at 21:30 local time, but delays due to other tournaments prolonged the start all the way until 4 hours later.

Despite the late hour these two teams filled up the arena for the fourth time in a row since last year's DreamHack Summer, as they were featured in the final of the same tournament in 2013 (fnatic were known as Epsilon), as well as in the final of DH Summer and DH Winter.

The match started on de_train as Markus "pronax" Wallsten's squad took the early lead as CT, but NiP equalized to 3-3 right after they got the big guns. fnatic sprung into an 8-4 advantage then, only to see it melt once again as the half ended 8-7.

But Jesper "JW" Wecksell & co. then won the pistol and the first buy round, going up 13-7. NiP's SCAR20 and AWP combo brought them back in the game, but Wallsten and Andreas "schneider" Lindberg won a crucial 2-on-2 for 15-12.

NiP's two flawless rounds brought them to 15-14, but a good inner attack in the last round secured a 1-0 lead for fnatic.

NiP couldn't come back on de_train

The second map de_dust2 once again saw Wallsten's team start on the favored side, this time as T, and they quickly built up a big lead 9-2. Everything continued working for them and the score at the half ended up being a convincing 12-3.

Upon changing the sides, NiP begun their own small run, but it was interrupted by great play from Robin "flusha" Rönnquist, Lindberg and Wecksell who led fnatic to a 4 round run to close the game 16-7.
